Skinny BBL in Austin, TX

What is a Skinny BBL ?

A skinny BBL is an advanced procedure performed by Dr. Pearce in Austin, TX to improve the appearance of hip dips, which are indentations around the curvature from the hips to the thighs. A skinny BBL redistributes fat from another area of your body to your hip dips, creating a fuller and more even appearance for a beautifully contoured silhouette. A skinny BBL is similar to a Brazilian butt lift, but the patients for this procedure are usually on the lower end of the body mass index scale, with a body mass index (BMI) of 22 – 25. Patients with a BMI below 22 typically lack enough fat to transfer to the buttocks and get a good result. This procedure aims to fill hip dips and add curves to the lower body rather than just increasing projection. In a skinny BBL, much of the projection is achieved by sculpting the lower back region just above the buttocks.

What Can I Expect During A Skinny BBL?

During your consultation, Dr. Pearce will discuss anesthesia options for the skinny BBL, usually performed under general anesthesia but can be performed while you are awake in our office with local anesthesia for suitable candidates. The procedure involves liposuctioning fat from selected areas like the stomach, inner thighs, arms, or lower back and injecting it into the hip dip areas for improved contours.

Skinny BBL FAQs

If your BMI falls between 22 and 25, you might be a perfect fit for a skinny BBL. Dr. Pearce’s goal is to transfer a minimum of 500 cc of fat to each side, ensuring you’re happy with the results. Ideally, he’d like to collect at least 1500 cc of fat to have enough for the transfer procedure.

The skinny BBL is an excellent choice for patients with deep hip dips, squared-off hips, and extra fat above the buttocks, as it provides the appearance of more curves.

If you lack sufficient fat for a skinny BBL, there are two options: gaining weight to ensure enough fat for transfer to the buttocks or choosing liposuction alone to sculpt areas with fat and enhance buttock curvature. Dr. Pearce can discuss the best options for you at your consultation.

Skinny BBL does not treat cellulite. If you have cellulite where fat is transferred, it will persist after surgery. To address this, consider our Aveli cellulite treatment 4 – 6 weeks before a skinny BBL to release the bands of tissue responsible for cellulite.

The final results of your skinny BBL will be fully evident six months after the procedure. Visible changes emerge approximately 4 – 6 weeks after surgery, but your final size and shape will appear after the swelling dissipates at six months. The transferred fat also takes six months to settle in and soften, giving you the final outcome.
